Brandon Todd LaSpada (b. 1977) is a contemporary painter originally from New York State, who spent several formative years working in Pittsburgh before temporarily relocating his studio to rural Sargent, Nebraska, to pursue a period of uninterrupted creative focus. Since fully immersing himself in oil painting, LaSpada has quickly gained recognition for his powerful visual language, earning selection into multiple juried exhibitions. He utilizes the canvas to give visceral form to the internal conflicts of the human condition—ranging from the isolation of social anxiety to the deeply personal weights of faith, guilt, and moral reckoning. Rooted in the Expressionist tradition, his landscapes and figurative works function not as literal representations, but as psychological spaces shaped by memory, internal belief systems, and emotion.
